The American-Arab Intellectual Property Association, in cooperation with the Al-Nibras Peace and Development Foundation and the Nile European University, organized a celebration of World Intellectual Property Day under the theme “The Importance of Intellectual Property and Sustainable Energy.” The event included a conference and exhibition held from April 30th to May 1st, 2024, at the Civil Education Center of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Cairo, Egypt. Over 20 speakers from various disciplines at Egyptian and Arab universities delivered presentations over the two days, which were attended by a large audience. The lectures focused on intellectual property and sustainable energy. An exhibition was also opened on the first day of the celebration, April 30th, showcasing various inventions related to sustainable energy. The speakers and participants were honored, and student Karim Sameh Abdo was selected for the best sustainable energy invention idea, receiving a gold medal for his project on converting plastic into energy. Professor Shaimaa Atef and her team were also recognized for creating a media platform called “Under the Microscope” and the character “Genesco,” which will be funded by the Association.
